I have been sent a B Sensible For Babies waterproof cot sheet to feature on my blog. The great thing about the sheet is the fact that it is 2 in 1. It’s a waterproof mattress protector and a soft fitted bed sheet all in one product.
The sheets are breathable, even thought they are waterproof. This is great as you know it is safe for your little one to sleep on. The sheets are made of 100% natural Tencel which is a thermo-regulating fabric. In other words…the moisture absorbing properties of the sheet help your sleeping child to remain cool and not overheat.

This is a great selling point as we all worry that are little one will overheat when sleeping…especially in those hot summer months. If you are going on your summer holidays to a hot country then it would be great to take this sheet with you for your child. Then you would have the peace of mind of knowing that you had done something to help prevent them getting too hot while they sleep.

The sheets are made from natural Tencel which is a 100% natural fibre that is made from Eucalyptus wood pulp. The properties of Tencel mean that the growth of bacteria and the presence of dust mites on the sheet are inhibited. (I hate thinking about dust mites so anything that will help prevent them gets a thumbs up from me). The sheets are Hypoallergenic and clinically proven to be suitable for people who suffer from sensitive skin, eczema, asthma & rhinitis. The Tencel is manufactured using a totally ecological process …so it is eco-friendly too! If you want to read more about the properties of Tencel please click here to be taken to the Tencel site. There is lots of really interesting information to read so I recommend you take a look. It has lots of information on all aspects of the fibre.

The waterproof sheets for children go under the name ‘B.sensible For Babies (Suavinet)’ and the Single bed to Super King sizes are known under the name ‘B Sensible’. The only difference between the products is the packaging. The sheets are still made of exactly the same 100% natural Tencel.
The sheets are available to buy in 24 colours. . . so lots of choice. The main colours that I could find widely available on the net are white, lemon, baby pink, baby blue and cream. I’m sure if you contact Tony Stephens at tony@bsensible.co.uk he will tell you the list of colours available and where to buy them. The sheets are available in lots of different sizes to fit all sizes of bed. Here is a list of the sizes available and RRP prices. B Sensible For Babies (Suavinet) range:- Moses (80x50cm) RRP £15.99, Cot (60cm x 120cm) RRP £19.99 and Cotbed (70cm x 140cm) RRP £20.99. The B Sensible waterproof fitted sheet can be bought in the following bed sizes:- Single (90cm x 190cm) RRP £25.99, Double (135cm x 190cm) RRP £33.99, King (150cm x 200cm) unsure of RRP but currently available at Aldiss.com for £38.80 and Super King (180cm x 200cm) unsure of RRP but currently available at Aldiss.com for £44.00. You can also buy a B Sensible waterproof pillowcase and it is available in two sizes 90 cm x 50cm and 75cm x 50cm. I am unsure of the RRP but they are currently available at Aldiss.com for £16.80 and £11.60.
The B Sensible sheet is made waterproof by the inclusion of a breathable polyurethane membrane that is virtually undetectable. The waterproof membrane is so thin I’ll admit I really didn’t think the sheet would work when I first saw it. To test it out I tipped 1 litre of tap water into the sheet to see if it would leak through….and it didn’t!

The sheets are machine washable to 90º C and can be tumble-dried. When I washed my sheet I just hung it up on the clothes airer and it dried really quickly which is another bonus to using these sheets.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this product to you as it does exactly what it should and it is great quality. The prices are higher than what I would normally pay for bed sheets but as I now know after having road-tested them – they are well worth the money.
The B Sensible range is a winner of a silver Bizzie Baby Award 2010 and it also has the European Flower eco-label award as it has high standards in both performance and environmental quality.
