It was when I first found out that I was pregnant that I started buying hooded bath towels and lots of them! I had at least 4 by the time my daughter was a year old.  It was only when I received an Aprés Splash Bath Towel that I decided to get rid of all my small sized hooded towels. I really liked the toddler sized towel from Splash About as there is much more fabric to dry your child with. I had been using the Aprés Splash towel all the time… up until now.  It now has to share the limelight with the Cuddlemoo Toddler Bath Towel by Cuddledry. I still use them both all the time as the toddler sized towels are so much better.
The lovely people over at Cuddledry sent me one of their Cuddlemoo towels out to review with my daughter and I’m so pleased that I get to keep it too. Well… They would have had a fight trying to get it back off me anyway!

The towel is made from unbleached organic cotton and bamboo fibre……… and it is SO SOFT! You actually have to see it to believe how soft it is. When I first washed the towel I was absolutely dreading it and I thought that it would never be that soft again. But I was wrong! After the wash it was still as lovely as when I first took it out of the packaging. This is very important as the towel is not cheap at £29.99 and I would not have been impressed if it had gone horrible after one wash. The mix of bamboo fibre and organic cotton is 60% more absorbent than pure cotton and it even has natural antibacterial qualities. Well done Cuddledry for making a great quality towel. I’m not surprised though as this is what they say on their website…..

“We don’t use gimmicks and we are serious about quality of the product. The luxurious materials used and the quality of the craftsmanship, mean your Cuddledry towel is something you will use daily for years, and its softness will always remain”.

The towel is toddler sized and it so adorable as it is adorned with a super cool cow print.  The towel has a proper hood rather than a triangle shaped pocket like on my previous ‘baby hooded towels’. The addition of a proper hood really is so much better than any other hooded towel I have used before as it means you can dry your child’s hair easier. The hood also has sweet little cow ears. It is true that they don’t add any additional benefits to the towel…but they are so CUTE! Another thing that is good about this towel is that because it has a curved edge and looks a bit like a cape, your child doesn’t tend to trip over the towel when they are wearing it. I found that with the conventional square shaped hooded towel (with a hooded pocket in one corner) my daughter tended to trip over the point of the towel dragging along the floor. They recommend the towel for children from walking age to 3 years. I think this is a realistic suggestion as there is lots of fabric in the towel and it will be able to keep your little one cuddled up for a good few years.

This Cuddlemoo towel is made from double layers and that makes it thick and snugly. I wish they made an adult one! The double layered design means that the towel absorbs water faster and this helps to get your child dry faster. This is a necessity for when you are trying to get a child dry at the swimming pool or trying to get them dry after a bath and all they are interested in is running off to play with their toys.
This would make a wonderful Birthday or Christmas gift for a child as it comes beautifully packaged – all rolled up in a cardboard sleeve. I’m pleased to see that the packaging for the towels is made from 80% recycled and 20% virgin pulp from sustainable forests. I’m sure any child would love one of these towels. It is available in the following designs- the Cuddlemoo (the one I received),  Cuddlesafari (Giraffe design), Cuddlebug Green (bug design with wings) and the Cuddlebug Pink. (Ladybird design).

The website is really easy to navigate and they is lots of information on there. They have a section entitled ‘Tips’ where they bring together lots of tips on how to bath your baby easily, swimming with your baby, baby massage, bath time safety, bath time and good baby sleep and bathing premature babies.

Cuddledry have won lots of awards, if you would like to see the long list please click here.
These include winning the Silver award in the 2010 Practical Preschool Awards for the SPF50+ Poncho Towel.

If you choose to buy the Cuddlemoo towel from the Cuddledry website then there is a £4.85 P+P charge to pay for Standard Delivery. The postage is charged depending on the weight of the items so if you order more items the price may go up. The checkout process clearly shows you the postage for the items in the basket though so it is nice and simple. There is a choice of delivery options but the standard delivery I mentioned should reach you within 3-5 working days. You can choose to either have your towels sent to your home or work address or if you are buying it as a gift you can have it delivered straight to the recipient with a gift message. What a lovely finishing touch.

Cuddledry towels are also stocked by many online shops and also in high street stores. If you would like to see a list of your local stockists please click here. I’m afraid there isn’t a list of online stockists but if you do a quick search I’m sure you’ll find loads. Some that I have found include Amazon.co.uk, Mothercare.co.uk and Boohoobaby.co.uk.

Cuddledry make lots of different products to make life with a child that little bit easier… and more fun! The most well known of their bath time products is the Original Organic Apron Bath Towel (of Dragon’s Den fame) which is an apron style towel that fastens around the adults neck to help them safely lift the baby out of the bath without having to use one hand to try and hold the towel . If you are going on holiday you might want to take a look at their SPF50+ Poncho Towel which is a poncho style towel that uses patented Rayosan™ technology to deflect harmful UVA and UVB rays off the towel, thus stopping your child’s skin being harmed.

The toddler towel is expensive at £29.99 but it is worth the money as it is so luxuriously soft, made from organic materials and super quality! If you are looking for a really cuddly towel for your darling little one, you can’t go far wrong buying a Cuddlemoo towel.

You have got to read the poem on the Cuddledry blog. It is called ‘A poem for a new mother’ and it was written by one of the Cuddledry founders Polly for her friend Vics when she was pregnant with her first baby. Be aware that there are a few naughty words but it is well worth a read. If you are already a mum and you read it you will know that it rings so true and if you are a mum-to-be…well..I’ll just say that the poem is a very accurate portrayal of pregnancy! But believe me when I say, that in the end it’s worth every minute of being pregnant when you finally have your little one in your arms.
