If you have read My Mummy Reviews before you will know that Martin at Miracle Bag has already sent me my dream bag, the bag I’d always wanted…the gorgeously stunning Red Spot Changing Bag from The City Range!!!

Well, this time he has sent my Mum the Large Maternity Wheeled Bag to review and she loves it! No, she isn’t pregnant but that doesn’t stop her using this bag, even though it is marketed as a ‘maternity’ bag.

She loves the fact that the bag has wheels and a retractable handle to pull it along by. There are also two short handles that can be fastened together in the middle by a press stud (for ease of carrying). My Mum’s intention is to use the bag for work as she works in the office at a school and so she always has lots of paperwork that needs transporting from home to office. My Mum has a bad back (as you’ll know from reading her review of the acupressure mat) and this is why she is so pleased that she can wheel the heavy bag from place to place and not have to carry it. Prior to receiving this bag from Miracle Bag she was taking paperwork to the office in a large re-usable Tesco bag and needless to say that ended up too heavy to easily carry but…needs must…so she would carry it around. Not any more! This bag has eliminated the need for her to carry a heavy bag full of paperwork…instead she can pull this along. Thanks Martin!

The bag is marketed as a ‘Maternity’ bag or ‘Hospital’ Bag but it would also be great as an overnight bag, classy office bag or luggage/ travel bag.  If you buy one of these bags you are sure to use it for years to come as it is made to such a high standard with quality workmanship. It is a very luxurious bag and I’m sure you’ll love to use it as much as my Mum does.

The large maternity wheeled bag is available in 3 different colours. You can choose from Red Crock, Chocolate Crock and Black Crock.   My Mum opted for the black crock as she thought it looked really smart for work use.  I do agree with her but I personally would buy the red one so that I stand out from the crowd!  If Miracle Bag could make the same bag in polka dot, like my Red Spot Miracle Bag….. then I’d be first in the queue to buy one!!!

The bag has one large zip up central compartment for storing your usual travel / hospital stay items such as clothes, toiletries, camera, and new baby items such as nappies, first outfit, etc (If you are using it as a maternity bag). This fastens with a two-way zip that fastens all the way round the top of the bag (usual suitcase/ luggage style) and there is a hole which you can thread a padlock through. This is great for peace of mind if you decide to use this on holiday as your check-in luggage.

The bag has a slimline zip up pocket on each side of the bag which is ideal for storing things like hospital notes (if you are using it as a maternity bag) or puzzle books for travel, pens, thin clothing such as vests or underwear, etc. These pockets are slimline but surprisingly spacious. One side compartment has a small zip up pocket in and the other side compartment has two slip pockets. Please see the photos for a look at these features.

The bag is lined in the signature ‘Miracle Bag’ waterproof dandelion fabric in black and white. This is the same fabric that is used in the City Range Red Spot changing bag  and also the Baby Essentials Organiser that I received.

The bag has a telescopic handle which neatly hides away under a zipped tab.  This handle really does make the bag so very useful for when you are pregnant.  We all know you shouldn’t really carry heavy bags when you are expecting so this bag is a great way to avoid putting yourself into the situation of having to carry a heavy overnight bag or hospital bag. Using the handle you you can pull the bag instead.

Beneath the hide-away handle is a small grab handle that you can use to pull the bag along by.  The bottom of the bag is protected by the presence of 4 plastic studs that keep the bag slightly raised from the ground. there are also 2 plastic studs on the wheeled end of the bag so that if you have the bag resting upright the end of the bag is protected. The bag has two wheels and you can see that they are great quality. The last thing you would want on a luxurious bag like this would be rubbish wheels…. but on this bag you don’t have that problem. The wheels spin really easily and they are tough enough to withstand being used frequently.

The zip pulls on the bag all appear to be chrome as do the D-rings on the grab handles. This is the perfect finishing touch to a classy piece of luggage..

The bag measures 54cm wide, the depth is 28cm and the height is 36cm.

The bag costs £49.95 which is quite a high price but I don’t hesitate in saying it is worth the money. It is a robust bag that is made from an exclusive ultra-tough material. It should last you for many years if you look after it. It could be bought in the first instance as a maternity / hospital bag but after that you will be able to use it on many of your holidays with your newly formed family.  My Mum recently used the bag when we went to stay in a Haven chalet for 3 nights. She managed to pack everything she needed in the bag and she was very happy with the amount of space she had for all her clothes, etc. The handle was also very useful to wheel the bag from the car park to the chalet.
