Review of Miffy 3D Nightlight and Miffy Fleece Blanket from heroesforkids.co.uk

My daughter is one very happy girl. The reason being she has just received a really cute Miffy 3D nighlight and a snuggly fleece Miffy blanket. The review products were sent to her by heroesforkids.co.uk who are the official online shop for Miffy and stock so many unusual and gorgeous Miffy items.

My daughter has never heard of Miffy before but the moment she saw the cute little rabbit she thought she was lovely. Miffy was designed in 1955 by Dutch graphic artist Dick Bruna and she is a very popular bunny rabbit with fans worldwide.

The nightlight costs £14.99 and it comes presented in a colourful box. At first I thought that maybe £15 was a bit too much for a nighlight but as soon as I saw how easily my daughter could operate it herself and also that it gives enough soft light to see my daughter asleep in the dark room – I soon changed my mind about the price.  Less than £15 is a great price considering it gives her a sense of security and also a bit of independence – knowing she can put the light on and off on her own without mummy’s help.

The light uses 2 x AA batteries which are really cheap and readily available on the high street. I always buy a pack of 10 for £1 from Poundland.  Don’t forget that you can now recycle your old batteries in a lot of high street shops that sell new batteries.

To turn the light on you push down on Miffy and to turn it off you do the same thing again. The light only stays on for 12 minutes but once the time is up you only have to press down on Miffy to start the next 12 minutes of light. The fact that the light only stays on for 12 minutes is good for saving the battery life as it means that if your child turns on the light in the middle of the night – it won’t then be lit up all night through until morning.

My daughter really loves her new Miffy night light and I can’t find a bad word to say about it. It would make a lovely gift for a child who is moving from a cot into a bed. It would make them feel really grown-up to have their own little light. The light is an exclusive item from Holland and it would be great for any fans of Miffy but as I have shown , also great for anyone who has never heard of Miffy before. The light measures 10cm x 16cm.

As I mentioned before my daughter also got a new Miffy blanket. It costs £19.99 and it measures 120cm x 150cm (47 x 59 inches). It is a nice big blanket that is the perfect size for snuggling up on the sofa or for laying on your child’s bed. It is a pretty pink check design with a large image of Miffy and some flowers. It is so girly and would make a fab gift for a girl of any age. Baby, Toddler, Teenager…even an adult would love this! I do!  This is also available in a blue version, if you would prefer.

The colours are so vibrant and the blanket is very soft. The edges have white blanket stitch and the blanket comes rolled up packaged in a cellophane bag with a paper insert showing the blanket design. It would make a substantial birthday gift and it is sure to be very useful. Blankets are great to keep the chill off in the winter months but also an be very handy to cover untidy piles of toys in the lounge, lay down on the floor as a play mat (for little tots) and also to keep your child warm in the car seat or pushchair. As this blanket is so big it would also be great to use as a throw on a sofa or a sofa bed in your child or teenager’s room. The blanket is machine washable but I have not yet had to do this as it is still clean and tidy. This blanket is also exclusively from Holland, the same as the night light.
