I was kindly sent a Diono Super Mat Deluxe to feature on my blog. It is a padded non-slip mat that you place beneath your child’s car seat in the car. It protects your car’s upholstery from being damaged by the base of your child’s car seat. This deluxe version of the car seat mat also comes with an added bonus – there is a changing mat that can be unzipped from the mat and used when / if needed.

The mat came packaged in a cardboard box which got the first thumbs up from me as I am always delighted to see packaging that can be recycled.

Once I’d removed the mat from the box I was really surprised by how padded the car seat mat was! It is really heavy duty and is sure to do a great job of protecting the upholstery of your car, beneath your child’s seat.

The Super Mat Deluxe™ has individual panels of high density foam in it that allows it to contour to any vehicle seat. It is designed to prevent permanent indentations caused by child safety seats.  As the mat has non-slip surfaces on the top and bottom it will prevent the child car seat from slipping and sliding in the car.

The Super Mat Deluxe can be used beneath all baby car seats, children’s car seats , extended rear facing car seats and booster seats. It is compatible with ISOFIX /LATCH/UAS car seats and if the mat gets grubby in the car it can be washed.

The padded changing mat is zipped onto the bottom of the car seat mat and it zips off easily so you can change your baby or toddler on it when needed. When you have finished with it all you have to do is give it a quick wipe over with a baby wipe (and spray it with anti-bacterial spray if you have some handy) and zip it back onto the car seat mat.  The changing mat has a little mesh pocket on it so you can keep a few baby wipes and a spare nappy with it. Very handy to have these in the car, especially when you are going on long car journeys, days out and on visits to see friends and family.

I think the Super Mat Deluxe is a great idea as not only does it help to protect your car seat upholstery from indentations but from a safety point of view, it stops your child’s car seat from slipping around. The portable changing mat is a a travel essential when you have a child, so to have it permanently in your car is fabulous!
