Hi everyone.
I am writing this post as my entry into the Co-operative Electrical competition. They asked us to write a blog post with a winter warmer recipe and my obvious choice had to be the Self-Saucing Chocolate Pudding recipe that can be cooked in the slow cooker.
I have cooked this pudding on several occasions and it is always wonderful to eat. I even made it for Christmas day dessert for Christmas 2012. It is a rich pudding that everyone will love to eat.
You can find the exact recipe I follow by looking at this link – http://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipe/slow-cooker-chocolate-self-saucing-pudding-L7784.html
You only need 100g butter, some milk, 1 egg, a bit of self-raising flour, some caster sugar, 4 tablespoons of cocoa, a cup of firmly packed brown sugar and some hot water. There is not much standing between you and some warm, scrummy chocolate pud!
Sadly there is no photo on that web page but there is a photo of a very similar pudding on this link – http://www.abc.net.au/local/recipes/2010/05/14/2899545.htm
I would have posted my own pic of the pudding but if the truth be told the pudding is not normally around long enough for me to take a snap of it!
I absolutely love my slow cooker and I highly recommend that you all treat yourself to one. I have a fancy red one that matches my kitchen. It is the Morphy Richards 48702 Sear & Stew Slow Cooker in Red and I bought it back in 2012 from one of the catalogue companies. It’s one of my best ever purchases for my kitchen! The best thing about it is that it has an aluminium cooking pot (instead of the usual ceramic one) that can be put on the cooker to pre-heat the food or sear the meat before slow cooking it. It’s a genius idea!
I have taken a quick look at the Co-operative Electrical website and they stock lots of different makes and models of slow cooker. They even sell the Morphy Richards one that I have. :o) All of the electrical items on the site come with free delivery and they can even give you a 60 minute time slot for delivery, if required. Fabulous news! There is nothing worse that having to wait in ALL DAY for a delivery. Well done Co-Op!
Fingers crossed that I am lucky with my competition entry….the winner will receive lots of money to spend at Co-Operative Electrical. How amazing would that be! . I’d love to win. :o)
Happy Slow Cooking!
