Today (18th December) is the last day for ordering small items as Christmas gifts from the fantastic online ‘cottage industry’ that is ….Betty and Dodge.
I met this wonderfully creative, husband and wife team on twitter and they ever so kindly sent me a beautiful oak keyring engraved with the words ‘Dad’s Keys’ to review on my blog. I fell in love with their unique gifts the moment I saw them on their website. They sell such lovely things!
I really adored the vegetable name labels for using out in the garden and I was very tempted to ask for those to review but when I saw the Oak ‘Dad’s Keys’ keyring I just knew that I’d found the ideal pressie for my dad! He loves the charm of wooden items so I knew he would appreciate the natural beauty of the Betty And Dodge keyring. 🙂
I choose to have my dad’s keyring with a natural linseed oil finish but if I’d preferred I could have opted for a keyring which was left untreated and with either silver or gold lettering. The smell of the linseed oil on the keyring was a welcome treat. It reminded me of the smell of my dad’s workshop. He loves to make things from wood – shelves, units, fancy bird houses, etc and the smell of the linseed brought back some lovely happy memories of when I was younger and I used to watch him in his workshop creating things.
It is because my dad loves to handcraft things himself that I knew he would appreciate the time and effort that Betty and Dodge had put into making his new keyring for him.
The keyrings are made from English grown reclaimed oak and they can be engraved with the wording of your choice up to a maximum of 9 large characters per row on 2 rows or 13 small characters per row on 2 rows. I saw their example of ‘Dad’s Keys’ and asked them to replicate that for me as I knew it was ideal for my dad. The large keyrings cost £5.00 if you only want the front engraved but if you want the back personalising too then it is an extra pound.
The large personalised oak keyrings measure approximately 105mm x 42mm x 5mm and the small personalised oak keyrings measure 85mm x 38mm x 5mm.
The last date for ordering these small oak gifts such as the keyrings, wooden bunting and plant labels is today. So please hop on over to their website and place your last minute christmas gift orders now….while you still have time. The web address is www.bettyanddodge,co.uk.
They also sell some stunning Christmas themed gifts and decorations. I think their Santa’s Magic Key would be a wonderful stocking filler. You could buy it for your child and pop it into their stocking on Christmas Eve…then when they see it on Christmas Day morning you could say that Santa used it to get in and that he’d like your child to leave it out for him next year. It could become a new Christmas tradition for your family. The last order date for this to arrive in time for Christmas is today – 18th Dec.
You all know how much I adore polka dots so you won’t be surprised to hear that I love the set of 3 standing reindeer decorations that Betty and Dodge sell. They have a subtle polka dot body and they look so festive. ( Please note that these particular decorations are not made by Betty and Dodge themselves ). The last order date for these to arrive in time for Christmas is today – 18th Dec)
Betty has done a grand job of making the Christmas Robin hanging decorations that can be hung around your house or of course on your Christmas Tree. I think these look so fabulous that you could easily get away with having these out on display all year round.
Last but not least , the wooden Christmas bunting is very pretty and would look lovely hung from your mantel piece or strung down the bannister of your staircase. Sadly the date has passed for this Christmas wooden bunting or the Christmas robins to be ordered in time for this Christmas but why not get organised and order some now ready for next year. After all you could then pack them away with your current Christmas decorations when you take them down in January.
I hope you all enjoyed hearing about the wonderful things that are sold by Betty and Dodge. They really are a lovely company and they have a great story as to why they came to be. Since receiving my keyring I have had the pleasure of chatting to Betty a few times on twitter and she is always so friendly. I know they would just love it if you too would follow them on twitter or indeed on facebook or Pinterest.
