Today I want to let you all know about a wonderful UK business who design and make removable wall stickers. They are called Oakdene Designs and they are based in Surrey.
My mum has had the pleasure of being sent one of their Roald Dahl wall stickers for me to write about on my blog and it was such a tough decision for her to decide which design she wanted. Oakdene Designs sell 40 different Roald Dahl / Quentin Blake themed designs and my mum spent absolutely ages deciding on which one she wanted.
In the end she opted for the Road Dahl ‘Happy’ design wall sticker as it was so cheerful and fun. The ‘Happy’ design normally costs £57.00 on their oakdenedesigns.com but at the time of writing this (09/01/15) they have a sale in their Not On The High Street shop and it can be bought for 20% off …so £45.60. The link you need is here http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/oakdenedesigns/product/happy-quentin-blake-roald-dahl-wall-sticker – please note that I am not sure when the sale will end and it will go back up to full price. Best buy it as soon as possible! 🙂
The sticker measures approx W102 x H81cm. It’s a huge wall sticker that will really make an impact when it is put on the wall. My mum hasn’t yet put her sticker up but she will do so in the near future. It is really great quality and she can’t wait to see what it looks like when it is up on the wall – It’s sure to bring a smile to the face of anyone who sees it.
All of the Official Roald Dahl / Quentin Blake wall stickers are exclusively produced by Oakdene Designs.
The ‘Happy’ wall sticker is absolutely splendiferous! It depicts lots of smiling, happy children and the image was illustrated by Quentin Blake for Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’.
The sticker arrived well packaged. It was sent rolled up in a protective cardboard tube and it came with full colour instructions with pictures. If you were to order a wall sticker that is A4 size or smaller it will arrive with you in a flat protective envelope. You can see the instructions on how to put the sticker on the wall by clicking here.
The sticker is printed and cut from from high quality matt vinyl with durable and UV stable inks. Oakdene Designs say that the wall stickers can be put up both inside and outside the home (they are weather-proof…how Phizz-Whizzing is that!).
In their FAQ section they state that if used indoors you will most likely not notice any fading of the inks – even 5-10 years down the line – and if the sticker is put up outside that they should last approx 5 years as long as they are stuck to a smooth surface. It does say that, as with most things, the ink could fade if exposed to direct sunlight.
Oakdene Designs sell a fantabulous collection of Roald Dahl / Quentin Blake wall stickers and they would be perfect to put up in your child’s bedroom or playroom. Everybody loves Roald Dahl,….so you could even put these up in your office or study. Nothing like a colourful Quentin Blake illustration to make you smile and bring back childhood memories of Roald Dahl’s wondercrump books. To be honest, just sitting here writing about Roald Dahl makes me want to go and read Charlie and The Chocolate Factory again and watch The BFG!
If you would like to see the full range of scrumdiddlyumptious Roald Dahl / Quentin Blake wall stickers please visit the Oakdene Designs website and browse through their exclusive collection of designs.
They sell designs from all your favourite Roald Dahl books such as Charlie and The Chocolate Factory , The BFG , The Witches and Matilda. The prices of the wall stickers varies depending on their size and they range from £12.00 for this adorable little mouse with bottle sticker and go up to £57.00 for the gloriumptious Willy Wonka’s factory wall sticker.
