Review Of ‘Home’ Movie By DreamWorks Animation

Today my daughter and I went to the cinema to see an advanced screening of the movie ‘Home’ by DreamWorks Animation.  We had both really wanted to see it and when we saw we could pay to go and see an advanced screening we jumped at the chance. Until then we’d thought we’d need to be patient and wait until March 27th when it is released nationwide….thankfully not though! 🙂

We only saw the movie in 2D today but when it is released in 3D I have a feeling we will be going back again to see that. I hate to admit it but I’ve not yet been and seen a 3D film in the cinema and I have a feeling I’m missing out!

Here is the official synopsis of ‘Home’ :-

When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip (Rihanna), manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons). The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime.

Home‘ was absolutely fantastic! I loved Jim Parsons as the voice of Oh. He was such an adorable character. I am a big fan of his from ‘The Big Bang Theory’ where he plays Sheldon Cooper and so I was eager to hear him in this film as the voice of Oh and he didn’t disappoint. His personality completely shone through and he had a great rapport with the character Tip (real name Gratuity Tucci) who is played by Rihanna. She is a feisty character and it is lots of fun to watch Oh and Tip on their adventure.

This is a great family movie and I think adults will love it just as much as the kids. It is funny, modern and soon to be a classic, I’m sure! It is a moving storyline and it tugs on the heart strings in a few places. Most of all though, the film will make you laugh and bring a smile to your face.

I recommend this film to you all!   I hope you have fun when you go and watch it.
