I have just found this review sitting sadly ‘unpublished’ in my drafts…waiting for its time to shine! I had no idea it was there so thought I would publish it straight away. The review is for the fantastic Emily ‘Puzzle Me’ Sewing Pattern by Mamu Design that was sent to me from Dots N Stripes.
I was sent this pattern a long time ago now but I still have it in my sewing pattern collection as it is such a lovely design – gorgeous and quirky! I also reviewed another couple of pattern reviews from the lovely lady at Dots n Stripes. There was Farbenmix Dortje Trousers (pattern can be bought here) and Studio Tantrum Redondo skirt (pattern can be bought here)
The EMILY ‘Puzzle Me’ sewing pattern that I was sent is £7.50 to buy and P+P is £2.80 within the UK.

Pattern Description: Puzzle me! The eight parts of the pattern EMILY can be put together like a puzzle for a variety of clothes such as shorts, bloomers, little shorts with ruffles, skirts, skirts with ruffles, skirt-shorts, neckholder dresses, neckholder tops, (reversible) aprons, overalls,… All clothes are easily sewn and therefor also suitable for beginners.
Detailed illustrated instructions, design examples and further information about the pattern can be found here
This pattern is for girls from size 62 to 140 and the pattern sheet also includes dolls pattern. The pattern needs to be traced from the pattern sheet, English translation included.

I made the dress when I first received this pattern and my daughter has sadly outgrown it now. The fabric was from my stash – It was an old IKEA cotton duvet cover called Tanja Blommig. I loved the striking flower design.
I really enjoyed making this dress and as you will see from the pattern packet there are few different styles of dress that can be made from this sewing pattern. There is a better photo of the pattern packet at the bottom of this blog post (taken from the Dots N Stripes website).
As you can see from the photo below I trimmed the neckline of the dress with a gorgeous spotty ribbon that Nicola from Dots N Stripes had sent to me. It is just £1.10 a metre and is reversible. I don’t think she stills sells the colourway I used but she has some other equally fabulous , dotty ones available! 😀 You must also take a look at her range of Farbenmix ribbons – they are divine!
I highly recommend Dots N Stripes sewing patterns to you as she sells wonderful sewing patterns for unusual style children’s clothing. They are not conventional designs, they are very practical, ideal for kids to wear and down-right-gorgeous!
Pop over and have a browse —-> www.dotsnstripes.co.uk . I have a feeling you’ll LOVE the fabric SALE that is currently running. 🙂 Go and get your purse ready!
Also , please could you stop by and LIKE the company on facebook.
A huge apology to Nicole for the delay in publishing the review. If I’d realised I hadn’t posted it yet I promise I’d have done it so much sooner.
Please note that the Dots n Stripes team are currently on holiday and will be away from the 6th-22nd July 2015. During this time there will no dispatch and they won’t be able to reply to your emails. However, orders can be placed as normal and will be processed and dispatched upon their return.
