Today I have a review for you about some hand-poured natural soy candles from ScrummiMelts.
I love burning candles in my home so I was delighted when I was offered the chance to review a couple of hand-poured soy candles from Scrummimelts and to host a worldwide giveaway of 2 baby candles (more details at the end of the post).
The company is based in Berlin and it is run by Simone who was born and raised in London. She only moved to Berlin this year and once she had settled in she started her new soy candle making venture which focuses on using recycled and reusable packaging and natural raw materials.
I received 2 Baby soy candles to review – one was Tiger Lily Rain and the other Lavender & Chamomile. The candles came presented in a Jute bag stamped with ‘S’ for Scrummimelts and it was all in a small cardboard box. The candles themselves are in small brown glass jars with screw top lids and with stylish labels on the front saying which scent the candle is.
I love the fragrance of the candles and think they look so pretty in the brown glass jars. Very apothecary style! The website description of the scents can be seen below :-
– Tiger Lily Rain
Notes of pure Jasmine and White Rose Petals with the teeniest hint of Ginger. Oranges, Apples and Bergamot, White musk and Cedarwood. A beautiful light refreshing fragrance.
– Lavender & Chamomile
A really lovely soothing blend of fresh French Lavender and Chamomile
Even though the travel size candles are small you get a lot of burn time from them. According to the website a small baby candle (costs €10 euro) should burn for approx, 14 hours. There are other sizes of candles available. Scrummimelts also sell a Midi Soy Candle and a Fattie Soy Candle. A Midi candle should burn for approx 25 hours (costs €18 euros) and a Fattie candle (costs €28 euro) for roughly 40 hours.
The other candle fragrances you can choose from are as follows :-
– Gingery Lemongrass
– Coffee and Cream
– Sandalwood & Pepper
– Seaweed & Juniper
– Eau Verbena
– Cuban Tobacco & Oak
I am very impressed with the natural look of these hand-poured candles and I really like the subtle scent of Tiger Lily Rain and the relaxing fragrance of the Lavender & Chamomile. The candles provide a homely, comforting glow when lit and they look very pretty sitting on my shelf with their lids on when not in use.
