Review Of ‘Delicious Chicken’ Spice Blend From A De Piff – The Tasty Fusion Of East Africa.

a de piff spice blendsBack in September I attended the Local Flavours 2016 event at the Norfolk Showground and one of the stands there was A De Piff – spice rubs/marinades – The Tasty Fusion Of East Africa. It was a stand full of colour because of the various packets of spice rubs that were on display.

The founder of A De Piff, Rai Bukulu, kindly gifted me a packet of the ‘Delicious Chicken‘ rub so I could try it out at home.

The ingredients of the ‘Delicious Chicken’ rub are as follows :-

Black Pepper, Chilli, Paprika, Onion, Cayenne, Sage, Parsley, Garlic, Turmeric, Sugar, MUSTARD, Salt, CELERY, Oregano, Cloves, Nutmeg, Ground Cayenne Pepper, Ground Bay, Ground Pimento, Ground Cinnamon, Ground Ginger, Red Bell Pepper Granules, Rubbed Mint, Monosodium Glutamate, Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein (SOYA), (Including Colour(E150d)), Spice Extracts(Including Natural Colour(E160c)), Ground Caraway, Flavourings, Anti Caking Agent(E551), Acidity Regulator(E330)

The packet advises you to ‘Sprinkle Or Add 2-3 Tablespoons Of Chicken ‘A De Piff’ Per 400gms As A Rub Or Mixed With Oil Or Water (6 Tablespoons or 2 for every Tablespoon Of ‘A De Piff’ to The Chicken’. I did this for the meal which you can see pictured in the embedded tweet above but this amount of seasoning made the dish too spicy for my palate. It was soon sorted by adding extra yogurt to my chicken dish and from then on I now add half the amount of A De Piff seasoning when I am using it in cooking. I have taken to adding a spoonful of this seasoning to soups, stews and meat dishes as it adds an extra depth of flavour.

There is currently a sale on over at the A De Piff website so you can currently grab a 100g bag of this ‘Delicious Chicken ‘ rub for £3.00 instead of the usual £5.00. You could instead buy a 10g bag for the sale price for £1.00 – if you just want to try a small amount before you buy a bigger bag. Postage is by Royal Mail and it is £2.85, within the UK.

There are lots of different Spice Blends to choose from and I have listed them all below this video :-

It would be great if you could spare a moment and pop over to Twitter and Facebook and follow A De Piff on social media. Thank you.

I think if you bought a selection of all the small packets they would be great made up into a Christmas Hamper gift for a foodie friend. 🙂
