Review Of Beautiful Handmade Children’s Clothing By Squidge & Smudge

Squidge & Smudge make such beautiful children’s clothes and bibs and my sister was lucky enough to be sent some of their handmade treasures to review on my blog.

The ladies behind the business are Judit and Boglarka. They are mums with young families and they have been friends for over 20 years. I think it is lovely they have started this business together and I wish them every success. They choose to use organic or Oeko-Tex certified fabrics for their garments so they are kind to children’s skin.

They ever so kindly gifted my sister a cute A-line dress made from beautiful unicorn print jersey and a couple of lovely dribble bibs – one a delightful toadstool print and the other a trendy stag print. My sister was over the moon when she received these items in the post.

The dress they sent was size 12 – 18 months and it was true to size. Because of the A-line cut of the dress my niece will be able to wear this for ages because even when it gets too short it will easily fit her as a top with some little leggings. Bonus!

The quality of the fabric and stitching is second to none. Squidge & Smudge have done a terrific job sewing this garment and my niece looks truly adorable in it.  Since receiving the dress for review my sister has put my niece in it a few times which subsequently means it has also been washed a few times. My sister has said that the dress went through the wash absolutely fine and the colours have retained their vibrancy and the garment hasn’t shrunk. Perfect!

Unicorn print clothing is bang-on-trend so it is fantastic that Squidge & Smudge have incorporated this popular design into their handmade clothing collection. You can browse the little girls’ dresses they sell here >> Squidge and Smudge Girls’ Dresses

My sister adores the dress and she is really impressed with the quality. We both love the fact that the serged stitching on the inside of the garment was sewn with a multicoloured rainbow thread. It isn’t visible on the outside but this just goes to show that they pride themselves on their attention to detail when producing their garments.

The two dribble bibs are made from really fun print jersey fabrics. The toadstool print bib was for my niece and the stag print bib was for my nephew. The bibs are backed with a towelling fabric so they are absorbent. The bibs fitted them both really well because of the poppers on the back of the neck and they have washed really well. This is a really important selling point when it comes to bibs as they get washed so frequently! You can browse the bibs they sell here >> Squidge and Smudge Bibs

The handmade clothing and bibs that Squidge & Smudge sent us for review were stunning and really high quality. You are sure to be very happy with any items you choose to purchase from them. Take a look at their etsy shop here >> etsy.com/uk/shop/SquidgeandSmudge

Before I finish this review I would also like to point out that when you buy something from Squidge & Smudge it will really feel like a treat when it arrives in the post as they use pretty mailing bags and the items are wrapped in tissue paper with a branded sticker fastening the paper shut. It really adds to the experience of buying online and it makes it obvious that you are buying from a small business and not a massive high street store. 🙂

If you are looking for gorgeous childrens’ dresses, tops, rompers or bibs then you definitely need to shop at Squidge & Smudge. You will also want to make a note of the fact that they sell premature baby clothing, in case you ever need to buy any.

I’d like to say a huge Thank You to the lovely Judit and Boglarka for kindly gifting these items to my sister. It was so nice of you. x
