I’m part of the Asmodee UK Blogger Board Game Club and they have gifted me ‘Cobra Paw‘ in exchange for an honest review. In case you’re not aware, Asmodee UK is an established distributor of games, collectables and toys – both domestically and across Europe.
Back in May 2019, when the opportunity first came about to be part of the Asmodee UK Blogger Board Game Club (organised by Playtime PR) I jumped at the chance to try out some of their games! I was given the opportunity to select board games from a huge list they supplied me with and then they sent me the games to review. So far I have received ‘Hey, That’s My Fish!‘ (Click here to read the review) , Ticket to Ride – Europe (Click here to read the review) , Jungle Speed (Click here to read the review), Dice Academy (click here to read my review), ‘SET‘ game (Click here to read the review), ‘Just One‘ (Click here to read the review), ‘Ticket to Ride London‘ (Click here to read the review), Maki Stack (Click here to read the review), ‘Azul’ (Click here to read the review), and ‘Exploding Kittens‘, Confident? and Cobra Paw.
The Cobra Paw game is described like this:
‘Ninja-like know how steals the game!
‘Ninja-like reflexes, sharp recognition skills, and mental fortitude steals the game in our new tile-snatching challenge known as Cobra Paw! Players take turns rolling the dice (featuring 6 unique symbols), spotting the tile with the matching pattern, then grabbing it before their opponents. The first player to snatch up 6 tiles wins the game and bestows great honor to the Grand Shidoshi, Master Meow!’
The Cobra Paw game is made by Bananagrams and it’s a simple pick up and play game that is really easy to get the hang of. My 10 year old daughter enjoyed playing against me …..although I definitely think I’m quicker at the tile grabbing than her!
The colourful box just contains an instruction sheet, two dice and some tiles – so setting up the game in super easy! You have to be quick off the mark to see the tile matches which means the game will have you focusing and reacting quickly.
When playing this game you will need to concentrate on the task in hand which is rolling the dice and quickly snatching up the matching tiles….there’s no opportunity for your mind to wander. This can be a blessing in disguise because when you’re playing Cobra Paw as it means you can quit worrying about all the housework and the myriad of other things that need sorting but instead you can just have quality time playing a tabletop game with your child/ partner / friend.
The game currently retails at £13.35 on Amazon UK which is a good price for this game as you will get many years of fun play from it. The tile and dice components are fantastic quality so will last and last.
The game is suitable for 2 – 6 players aged 6 years+. I personally think younger kids could even play this game too – but maybe not at such a fast pace.
